Two Completely Different Scenes

Two more paintings completed last week.  One depicting a bright Texas afternoon, the other a dusky sunset in Michigan's Upper Peninsula.  The first dry, the second showing lots of water.

Another sunset from the shores of lake Superior.  Finished this last week from a photograph taken at the Sandhill Lighthouse.

A Paint-Out, a Studio Piece and a Class Piece.

Finished 3 pictures over the past two weeks.  The first piece was started at the first Cibilo Creek Paint-Out (with 2 other members of the Texas Paint Slingers) and completed in our studio.

Cibolo Creek, 9 x 12 Pastel
The second piece was done in our studio.  It is from an old photo taken in the Tucson area.  The photo had an extraneous white panel truck and another building that I chose to leave out.

A Pink Adobe in the Desert, 12 x 18 Pastel
Finally, I did an autumn scene in class.  This was from a photo taken by Jim McClean in North Carolina.  Unlike the New Hampshire scenes done previously, this picture had some very interesting deep reds.

Another Walker Ranch Paint Out

Walker Ranch Bridge, 18 x 24 on UArt
Painted this in the studio.  Used photos and a study painted "plein aire".

Walker Ranch Study
This was the original plein aire painting.  The bridge as seen from the creek bed.  Fortunately the creek was dry.  Went with the Texas Paint Slingers.  Sat and painted and listened to the birds.

A Hill Country Shelter, 9 x 12
This was last week's class painting in Jodie's workshop.
