First Pastels of the Year

Here are the first three pastels I have finished this year.  These are from scenes in three different locales, along the Rhine River, East Texas and the Hill Country.

The first is based on a photo taken through a bus window while touring the Black Forest along the Rhine River.  It was painted on a light red tinted sheet of sanded paper.

The next picture is a fog scene from the Sabine River in East Texas, taken by my daughter.  It too was painted on a red tinted piece of sanded paper.

Finally, a picture from Lost Maples State Park, painted on a piece of cadmium yellow tinted sanded paper.
