Two photographs I have completed for the upcoming NBAL Celebrating Texas show (Starting July 2nd, Reception on July 5th).

The first was taken during our Christmas tour of San Antonio's Mission Trail.  Loved the sky.  Strange December clouds.

The second is a composite (a frameless triptych?).  For those of you unfamiliar with Texas  geography, that's El Capitan on the left (the landmark on the last leg of the stage trip to El Paso)  The center section is the hill country just north of the Frio River.  The right hand side is the Government Canal on Caddo Lake near the Louisiana border.

Recent Work

Here are four pictures (including two quick studies) from my recent work.  Took a workshop last month and it took time to get back to my style of painting (whatever that is).

The first picture is from a recent quick trip to Sacramento and Wine Country.  It was a foggy morning drive around Napa Valley.

Back Roads of Napa, Pastel, 9x12
The next picture is from an old photograph taken in Michigan's Upper Peninsula.

View from a Lighthouse, Pastel, 9x12
The next two pastels are quick studies (completed in one or two hours).  That's quick for me.

Red Rocks of Arizona, Pastel on PastelBord, 5X x7

This one was an attempt to capture a rainbow in Hawaii, from a picture provided by Lauri McLean.  What I discovered was that rainbows are very hard to paint.
