Some More Recent Paintings

My South Texas Rain painting got an Honorable Mention in the NBAL Texas show.  It competed in the same category as drawings and watercolors.  There were a number of very good paintings among the pastels, so I was very excited to get this painting recognized.  Credit also to the Greenhouse Gallery for the stunning mat and Hobby Lobby for framing this picture.  The mat and frame really enhanced the sunny look I was trying for.

The first picture is one I started in Stan Sperlak's April workshop.  I finally finished it.  It was painted on the Ingram ranch along side Bear creek.  I had to carry my pastels several hundred yards over the hill to get this view.  The other three paintings are from various locations ranging from Amsterdam to southeast Texas to the Hill Country (just up the road from the Hill Country Chapel shown in the painting on my previous blog.

Bear Creek Bend, Pastel, 9 x 12

Keukenhof Gardens Fountain, Pastel, 9 x 12

Blue Bonnet Wine Trail, Pastel, 9 x 12
