NBAL Art in the Hills

Friday I entered 3 Pastels in the NBAL juried show Art in the Hills.  The show invited artists in all media from several art groups (NBAL, Canyon Lake, Seguin, Boerne and Wimberly) to participate.  Saturday was the scheduled pick up day for rejected art.  I did not receive a call.  I think that is good news.  The first painting was a redo from a photograph and a small plain air painting.

I posted the next pastel previously.  It is the aqueduct near the Espada Mission.

The final painting was loosely based on several photographs taken in the fog of the corner of our newest city park (Fischer).  Enjoy.  Come visit the NBAL.  The show is up until the end of June.

Overdue Post

Talked to an old friend last night.  He reminded me that I haven't posted in several months, so here are a few more pastels recently completed.

Napa Valley, 9x12, Pastel
Here is one of our new park, just down the block from our house, as seen on a foggy New Braunfels morning.  I found it challenging to capture the fog.

And here is one from a picture taken on a sunnier day.  It is the Espada Aqueduct just down the road from the Espada Mission.  It's on San Antonio's Mission Trail.  One of the spots less visited.

Just Experimenting

Here are two more pictures I recently completed.  Just experimenting.

The first picture is of a lake along the road to the top of Cadillac Mountain in Acadia National Park, Maine.

The second is the old gas station in Driftwood Texas.  I took the liberty of omitting the addition and the paved road.  This one was in the NBAL Small Things December Show.
